About

Susanne is an experienced gardener who has been operating her own design, installation and maintenance business since 2002; she began gardening professionally in Vancouver after years of practice in her own garden, and in 2008 she moved to Victoria.

She brings a wealth of practical experience and an extensive knowledge and appreciation of ornamental plants to all of her projects.  She uses organic materials and management regimes to build healthy, vital soils – the foundation of a successful garden and happy, thriving plants.

Her introduction to horticultural training was the Master Gardener Program at VanDusen Botanical Garden in Vancouver, but she has since completed additional training in garden design, organic soil management and maintenance practices.

She holds a certificate in Ecological Landscape Design from Gaia College, is a certified Master Gardener, a SOUL-certified Organic Landcare Professional, and has most recently been honing and refining her planting design and management skills at Great Dixter in England under the tutelage of horticulturalist and plantsman, Fergus Garrett.

By offering design and maintenance services, Susanne is in the unique position of being able to be involved in all phases of your garden’s ongoing development. This brings a high level of consistency and accountability, and general success and satisfaction, to the whole process – from planning, to execution, to maintenance.
